Kathy's Kwiltin' Korner
Just got back from two quilting shows back to back and my head is spinning. Lots of new ideas and great classes ahead. Embroiderers will not be left in the dust as anyone’s embroidery machine can become their fa-vorite quilting machine with the right designs and tips. We will be doing some whole cloth de-signs and heirloom feathers, on sateen fabrics, ready for the painting process.
Lots of paint choices and the painted quilts are easy and fun to do, as well as beautiful. Anyone can paint, you do not need to be an artist to create beautiful designs. Here are two painted quilts done by Sherry Rogers at the quilt show and thought you would like to see them. This is the same embroidery design done on an embroidery ma-chine, just painted very differently. We are so excited about this.
Certification on the longarms is a great way to get those tops quilted and this summer you can rent the machines for 3 hours and get the 4th one free. That will save you money and we would like to see your smiling faces and quilts done for sure. With 2 ma-chines, and a sit-down, there usually will be one for you to use. Watch for our 1 1/2 hour refresher class coming up this summer—for all of you that have not quilted for awhile, and forgot a few things, this might help.
We are planning a completely different Fun and Done Quilt. This was a very popular class this spring and anyone can do this. Put the blocks together and the quilting is completely done on the back side as well.
Block of the month quilts are in the works as well as a new kleidascope embroidery quilt done on black background fabric for a stunning effect. 4 years ago we did one and this next one will knock your sock off. Pictures will be posted as soon as we have them.
HandiQuilter has done it again, rocked the quilting world with their new technology to make quilting even easier. The True Stitch, stitch regulator for the Sweet Sixteen sitdown machine and a free update to the incredibly wonderful Prostitcher software. We will be showing all the products when they become available. We spend a lot of money going to trainings, only to bring you the best in sewing and quilting. Catch you later, Kath
