
Jacket and Slacks Beginner Sewing

In this class you will learn the basic sewing tools needed to construct a garment.
Different types of fabrics for your project.
"What is interfacing"? different types of interfacings.
Instruction on how to read a pattern, sizing and layout.
Personal guidance in the construction of your garment during class.
At the end of the 2-session class you will leave with a 2 piece finished outfit.
A kit will be provided that will include elastic, interfacing for the jacket, the pattern and thread to match your material. This is included in the cost of the class fee.
During the first session we will take a field trip to the fabric store to help you select your fabric for the garments. The cost of the material will be your expense. This is why the fist session has extra time to allow for our shopping trip.
No sewing experience needed. Machines will also be provided for use during class. Please bring basic sewing supplies, fabric shears, long straight pins, seam ripper. Any of these supplies are sold in our shop if you don't have these items.
